The Tooth Fairy is coming!

Hannah came home from school today in tears because she had a tooth that she had been playing around with for months and it was just hanging there. She is quite the Drama Queen in our home so she has made quite a lot of fuss about it. I finally had to pin her down on the couch tonight to get her to let me look in her mouth all the while she is crying her eyes out. I couldn't pull it out with my fingers so I tied dental floss around it and pulled. It popped out so easily! NO TEARS! She was more upset with the anticipation of it hurting than the actual release of the tooth. The Tooth Fairy brings her a $2.00 bill for a lost tooth. Thank goodness she has a whole stash of them!
And all I got was .25 cents for mine!

To my Friends!

I have to tell you all that I love my friends! There are so many of you out there and you have touched my life more than you will ever know! Whether you have been my friend for years or just a few weeks, there is a reason you are in my life. Thank you for your friendship and everything you do for me!

I NEED relief!

Brent's Mom left Texas on Friday and I feel a total weight lifted off my shoulders! I still need a full body massage to relieve the stress from my body though. The moving is almost done so it will have to wait.

My current obstacle is my costochondritis (chest pain). I'm feeling frustrated with the fact that my medication isn't working anymore. In fact, it's getting worse. I'm worried that this is going to be a constant struggle as it has been for 3 years now and my Dr. says I should consider getting a partial sternectomy to remove the inflammation. That is major surgery. Aside from getting rid of the pain, I am feeling a sense of urgency in getting this medical condition under control and hopefully get rid of it as I would like another child. I always thought I'd have all my kids by the time I was 35 and that time is quickly approaching. I will be 34 in August. I'm on my 4th Dr. concerning this condition and none of them know how to help me. Is surgery the only answer?

I can't sleep!

It is 12:50 am and I cannot sleep! Brent is out of town and I just can't get myself to relax and go to sleep. It's amazing that when he is home and 9:00 pm rolls around I cannot keep my eyes open and when he's gone, I can't get them to close! He says it's because I'm partying while he is gone. You know, "when the cat's away, the mice will play!" That is not it at all. I think it's that I feel safe and secure when he is with me and when he's gone, my safety zone is missing! Good thing he doesn't travel too often!

OH! The Draaama!

This year was suppose to be better than last year. We are not off to a great start! I feel like I'm in a Soap Opera. Maybe take a huge part in "Days Of Our Lives." During my childhood I felt as though I was raised in a "dysfunctional" family and always admired those families who were "perfect". 11 years ago I found such a family and was so lucky to be marrying into it! Over the years I have come to realize there is no such thing as a "perfect" family. Everyone has "dysfunction" to some degree or the other. Between my family and Brent's we have our own Soap Opera well staffed and feel we have reached "dysfunction" at its greatest. And after yesterday, a new season has just been written, I just wish I new the plot and the outcome of it all.
Stay tuned......after all, these are the days of our lives!

"BE GRATEFUL"

Now that Hannah is in Activity Days I wanted to focus on doing the "Be Attitudes" with her. I thought I'd focus on one of the ATTITUDES at a time so the girls would remember them more fully. So last night for Family Home Evening our lesson was "Be Grateful". I asked the girls what they were grateful for. (Brent had to work late.)

These were their answers:

Hannah: "I'm grateful that we have a nice home to live in."
Danielle: "I'm grateful that Daddy can get us money."

After talking to Danielle a little bit about what she meant, it didn't take long to figure out what she was saying. She is grateful that Daddy has a good job that can provide for us the things we need. Aren't we all! I am very grateful that Brent does have a good job and that it allows me to stay at home with the girls and take care of them and our home. We do have a nice home and if it weren't for Brent's job we would not be living here. With this Economy, we know so many people who are having financial difficulty and some of our friends have even lost their jobs. I am grateful for the hard worker that Brent is and the time and effort he puts into EVERYTHING! I am grateful for so many things, but, right now I am especially grateful for my loving husband, Brent! I have to mention that I am also very grateful that I can feel our Heavenly Father in our lives right now. With the sale of Brent's Mom's house here in Texas and her having a place to go to in Utah, we are grateful!
